Dear Central Students/Parents:
As you are aware, the state of California has mandated that every high school student take and successfully pass both sections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), along with meeting all other state and local requirements, in order to earn a high school diploma. The CAHSEE is made up of two sections, English-Language Arts and Mathematics.
We, like you, understand the importance of passing this exam and what that means for your child. All tenth graders and any senior who has not yet passed the CAHSEE will be taking the test on March 18 (English/Language Arts) and March 19 (Math). Your child will test at WEST Campus. Students must pass the exit exam with a score of 350 or above in both English Language Arts and Mathematics.
Please make sure that your student reports to WEST Campus on both testing days.
You can also find state released test questions, blue prints and study guides at www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/hs/resources.asp
Below are a few other items that you should be aware of:
During CAHSEE testing we will be following a plan C foggy day schedule. Students that are not taking the CAHSEE exam will need to report to school by 11:15.
THERE SHOULD BE NO 9TH GRADE STUDENTS ON CAMPUS BEFORE 11:15 AS THEY ARE NOT PARTICIPATING IN CAHSEE.
Due to CAHSEE testing we will also be moving our Minimum day to Thursday, March 20th. All students will be released at 2:00.
Please call Mrs. Dhillon at 276-5276 if you have any questions.
